SEND & Inclusion
At Stanhope Primary School Inclusion is seen as a universal human right. We embrace all children irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other special educational need in line with Equalities Act 2010. It is the right of parents and children to access mainstream education alongside their peers, where parents want it and children’s needs can be met.
We are committed to meeting every child's needs through our high quality teaching and curriculum offer. All teaching staff are involved in the learning and development of pupils with SEND. Parents and carers are involved at all stages.
Our SENDCO coordinators are Ms. Martinez and Ms. Pietruszka (job share).
Our SEND Policy https://www.stanhopeprimaryschool.co.uk/docs/policies/Stanhope_SEND_Policy.pdf
is in line with the exciting changes recommended by the Green paper for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Review, available here
We are always happy to welcome your feedback via email or in person. To support parents through what can be a difficult journey, we regularly host SEND parents coffee mornings and afternoons, which give our parents the opportunity to share, advise and support each other. We will be organising parent consultations for SEND for 2023-24.
The Local Offer
The name 'Local Offer' is used to describe all the services and provision available to children and young people aged 0-25, and families 'locally' who are living with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
The Local Offer website is a resource to help you understand what is available and how to access services and support.
The Inclusion Team can be contacted via the school office email:
In the email subject line, please type: 'FAO Ms Pietruszka'
In the document attached you can read about out provision and how we support those children who have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities, and their families.
This area will show all documents uploaded to the /docs/SEND folder.
Documents in folders containing the word 'letter' or 'minute' are listed in the order they were uploaded, most recent upload at the top. Otherwise, documents are listed alphabetically.
